Barack Obama and Vladmir Putin Have Personalized Mulberry Handbags Now
The Alexa, the Neely, the Del Rey, the… Vladmir? Doesn’t quite have the same ring to it, but there’s now one getting toted around the streets of Russia.
This week Mulberry found a new It Crowd to honor with the monogrammed freebies, gifting one personalized bag to Vladmir Putin, one to President Barack Obama, and one to each of the other six world leaders gathered at Enniskillen, Ireland for the G8 Summit. Granted it’s probably harder to sit front row there than it is to sneak in the Grand Palais, but we’ll have to hoard a crapload of USB sticks to get on par with that swag.
Angela Merkel, the only female head of state present, received a black leather Piccadilly travel bag worth a cool $2,090. The seven male attendees were given luxe Matthew manbags (retail value $2,477) with their initials stamped onto the luggage tags. Unfortunately manbags are so last season and all the cool boys want clutches or colostomy bags now, but there’s always eBay.
