Bernard Arnault Declares John Galliano Will Never Work At LVMH Again

Despite rumors to the contrary, Bernard Arnault has set the record straight: embattled designer John Galliano will never again work for LVMH.

On Friday, the New York TimesCathy Horyn reported whisperings of “casual discussions among LVMH executives about the feasibility of Mr. Galliano returning to his own label.” Arnault has since told Horyn that Galliano will not be allowed to return to his eponymous label, Dior, or any other LVMH brand. He also noted Galliano “didn’t have the simple politeness to contact me” following his arrest. Yikes.

Need more proof than the word of LVMH’s head honcho? Galliano (the company) just announced that Bill Gaytten will take over as creative director of the brand. Gaytten has worked for Galliano and Dior for years, and presented Galliano’s men’s collection in Paris last week.

Maybe Gucci Group will come calling, maybe Galliano will strike out on his own, or maybe we won’t hear from him for a very long time. Meanwhile, we’re curious to see how his trial plays out. Anyway, check out two models from Gaytten’s first Galliano show. Don’t they look…familiar?

When the Galliano Debacle first happened, I was quick NOT to judge the man while he was drowning in his addictions and subsequent sorrows. After all, the teachings of Jesus Christ or is it Bill W. from Alcoholics Anonymous say that “forgiveness is the key“ http://ow.ly/5rarH
