Too Tight, Too Short, And Too Much At The BET Awards

Viewers sat on the edges of their seats during last night’s BET Awards, primarily for Chris Brown’s highly anticipated Michael Jackson tribute (video below!), and for good reason. But in true Styleite spirit, we were more focused on the red carpet and performance outfits. And as the theme of the night dictated, we certainly saw a slew of Jackson-inspired attire.

We know how difficult a red carpet can be, especially when part of the task is to pay tribute to a huge, yet decidedly controversial fashion icon. But trying to find a best dressed at this particular awards show was like finding a size 8 Louboutin at a sample sale: impossible. Visible stockings, too much skin, an over-embroidered mini dress — it was almost as though Hollywood simply ran out of good clothes.

The verdict is still undetermined as to whether Chris Brown’s performance did Jackon’s legacy justice, but we can say undoubtedly that the fashion choices on this red carpet certainly did not. Here are some of the looks from last night’s BET Awards.
