Bitter Ex-Husband Sues Former Wife Over Million Dollar Shoe Collection
Remember when we introduced you to that lady with that epic, 1,200 pair shoe collection? Well it seems she’s got her Louboutins in a bit of hot water lately with her hedge fund manager ex-husband.
Beth Shak is a World Series of Poker champion who also happens to have a series penchant for high heels to the tune of 1,200 pairs collected over seven years, which works out to just about a new pair every other day. Her enviable closet has been documented everywhere from MTV Cribs to the New York Times, but now former husband Daniel Shak is claiming he had no idea the collection existed during their divorce proceedings back in the summer of 2011. The Post reports that the Wall Streeter is asking for at least 35% of the estimated $1 million dollar inventory — no doubt a result, at least in part, of the fact that he apparently lost millions in the gold market recently and has a bit of a poker habit himself.
Beth argues that his allegations are ridiculous: “I’m shaking my head over this whole thing. He is saying he didn’t know the closet in our master bedroom existed.” Add to that the fact that said closet has been the subject of several TV shows, documentaries, newspaper articles, and blog posts, and this seems like a very far fetched idea indeed. Beth, we’re rooting for you and your beloved stilettos in this battle. Do us proud.
Also mentioned in the article: Ms. Shak “has an image of a Christian Louboutin stiletto tattooed on a private area of her body.” Friends, please never let our love for shoes get that far.
