Beyoncé Returned To The Stage Last Night In Over 500,000 Swarovski Crystals
Beyoncé held her first concert last night since giving birth to Blue Ivy back in January. It was an Atlantic City affair, meaning serious glitz was in order. And boy did B deliver.
The design team over at Ralph & Russo put together four custom pieces for the show – the first of four sold-out concerts to be held in AC over Memorial Day weekend (so close, yet so far!). How to outfit the World’s Most Beautiful Woman? With half a million Swarovski Elements crystals, of course! The pieces took 20 couturiers four weeks to make – which sounds about right given that her Met Gala dress reportedly took 350 hours.
When you run the world people tend to take a little extra time making sure you look extra fabulous.
The designers told People they were going for a “modern showgirl” look. Said Michael Russo:
“Beyoncé always delivers energetic performances and therefore we take into account the comfort and flexibility of each outfit and the ease of getting in and out of the pieces with quick costume changes.”
