Did Beyonce Steal The Choreography For Her ‘Countdown’ Video?
The internet went a little nuts on Friday for Beyonce’s latest video, ‘Countdown’, and not just because it gave us a heaping dose of Pregnance but because the whole thing was so delightfully referential!
There was Audrey Hepburn and Flashdance and Twiggy and Andy Warhol! And there was also, apparently, a whole lot from a lady named Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker, who Wikipedia calls her “one of the most prominent choreographers in contemporary dance.”

An email tipster sent us the following video which goes back and forth between the Countdown video and examples of de Keersmaeker’s choreography. This isn’t the first time Queen B has been accused of being too liberal with her inspiration. In May, she and her team came under fire for cribbing her performance from Italian pop singer Lorella Cuccarini. And in August of last year, an Icelandic brand accused her of knocking off their studded leggings (which Beyonce apparently purchased at Topshop) for her House of Dereon line.
