WATCH: Beyoncé Addresses Her Inauguration Performance
This afternoon, Beyoncé held a press conference to put an end to the controversy surrounding the lip-syncing situation at the Inauguration a week and half ago. She brought down the house with a live rendition of the national anthem, and then, smirking, asked: “Any questions?” Nope, no questions. We’re all good here.
During the press conference, Queen B, dressed in a long-sleeved ivory mini with an open back, came clean about using a pre-recorded track at the Inauguration. But she did not admit to or mention anything about lip-syncing. In her own words:
“I practice until my feet bleed and I did not have time to rehearse with the orchestra. Due to no proper sound check, I did not feel comfortable taking a risk. It was about the President and the inauguration, and I wanted to make him and my country proud, so I decided to sing along with my pre-recorded track, which is very common in the music industry. And I’m very proud of my performance.”
So let the record stand that she sang at the Inauguration — but with a pre-recorded track. How do you think Anderson Cooper‘s going to address this on his show tonight?
The star also said that she will most definitely sing live during her much-anticipated Super Bowl half-time performance.
