PHOTOS: You Can Own The Hats Bill Cunningham Designed

Last year we learned that Bill Cunningham was a hat designer before becoming the New York Times‘ beloved street style photographer.

The one-time milliner sold his creations under the label William J in the ’50s and ’60s, and 23 of his chapeaus will go on sale April 23rd at 1stdibs.com. Coincidentally, Cunningham will be honored at the Carnegie Hall Medal of Excellence Gala that same day.
