PHOTOS: Blake Lively Is A Disappointingly Un-Sinful Choice For Bullett‘s ‘Sin Issue’

Sin certainly makes for good magazine content – hell, Vice has built a whole empire on it – but we are somewhat perplexed at Bullett‘s choice of Blake Lively for the cover of their Summer 2012 ‘Sin Issue.’ The Gossip Girl star somehow manages to strike us as both syrupy-sweet and utterly bland – not quite the ingredients for an issue dedicated to dissolution.

We suppose her GG character Serena van der Woodsen fits squarely into the “sinful” category, having manipulated her friend’s boyfriend into sleeping with her, filmed the tryst for personal gain, and reverted back to her old drug-addled ways when the whole plan goes up in flames. Ms. Lively, however? Not so sinful. The actress tends to rank right around Kate Upton‘s level in terms of people we want to read about – she’s nice to look at, sure, but substance-wise….well, we’ll have to wait until the glossy comes out to see if she manages to prove us wrong. Perhaps more talk about her desire for ‘tranny’ kids?

The profile is penned by Nick Haramis and bears the title “Whisper To A Scream,” accompanied by a spread shot by David Slijper and styled by Melissa Rubini. Props are due to the latter for her choice of a Cushnie et Ochs metal peplum dress, with which we’re now a tad obsessed.

The magazine will hit newsstands June 5th, at which time we will most definitely be running to purchase the Alexander Skarsgård version, thank you very much!
