Karl Taps Blake Lively For Chanel Handbag Campaign

Just when you though Blake Lively’s star power couldn’t get any bigger, word has it the actress has been selected to star in a new ad campaign for Chanel.
A source told E!’s Marc Malkin that Lively was just in Paris “shooting for the French fashion house’s handbag collection.”
Anyone who follows Lively shouldn’t be too surprised — after all, the Gossip Girl star spent no small amount of time with The Kaiser this summer and even sat front row at his Fall/Winter 2011 Couture show in Paris. And the choice makes sense: Karl has long championed a mix of younger stars like Keira Knightley and Lily Allen and more established faces like Nicole Kidman and Ines de la Fressange.
And, more importantly, if there’s one thing The Kaiser has a spidey-sense for, it’s buzz. Lively may only be 23, but she’s already got a Louboutin named after her, two Vogue covers under her belt (and is reportedly up for a third!), and graced the cover of Vogue’s Best Dressed Women of 2010 excerpt, despite not having stylist. Lively may well be the most buzzed about starlet on the red carpet circuit.
Malkin’s source says the ads will launch early next year — and we can’t wait to see them. What do you think of Karl’s choice?
