Blake Lively Tells Elle She Wants Her Kids To Be ‘Trannies’

Blake Lively is Elle‘s March cover girl. What are your thoughts?

We think the white-on-white-on white cover is painfully boring, though it’s worth noting the actress is wearing a Victoria Beckham dress. And at least her Lorraine Schwartz rings are cool? Lively didn’t just pose for the magazine, she also answered questions about her love life (“I’ve never been with anyone that’s not a boyfriend.”) and not having a stylist (“When I’m going to an event, I’ll send Christian [Louboutin] a picture of my outfit and say, ‘What shoes do you think I should wear with this?’”).

There’s also this:

“I hope to have a few girls one day. If not girls, they better be trannies. Because I have some amazing shoes and bags and stories that need to be appreciated.”

We understand what she was trying to say, but maybe next time Lively should use a less offensive term. Check out the cover below:

I am Transgendered and I did not find the comments she made were inappropriate. As a matter of fact, I wish I would have had a mother like her to share all the clothes she has! She truly is lovely!

“They better be trannies”??  Well, there you go.  Another nitwit celebrity who won’t allow her children to be who they are. It may not be offensive to trannies, but her comment was just stupid.  Find a young relative, or sponsor a child who wants to share your clothes and accessories.

This was tongue in cheek, not a serious statement.  She was making a joke about her incredible wardrobe, etc.  Everyone needs to lighten up.  I am not impressed with Styleite’s coverage and stories this week (this and particularly the Kristen Stewart/Karl Lagerfeld nonsense).  Taking yourself waaay too seriously while misleading the reader with inflammatory story titles.  I may need to unsubscribe.

Totally agree. She just stated there is nothing wrong with transgendered people even if her kids are. I totally agree lisa!

she is just saying, if she has a boy then it would be okay if he was so that he can get all her lovelies!

The term tranny is only offensive when meant offensively. Blake Lively did not mean the term offensively, she has amazing clothes, we all love her, she’s a very genuine person, she’s great on gossip girl and in other films etc. Case closed.

I’m trans as well, and yes I do think it would be preferable for her to say she wants her sons to be “trans” or “transgender.” That being said I don’t find what she said to be particularly offensive, I thought what she has was kinda a cute statement, that she is cool with trans kids.

This isn’t like when Neil Patrick Harris said it or Kelly Oseborn, who did use that term with some negative associations (NPH= trans women all have super deep voices and Kelly that trans women are worse than any other woman are less than any other woman).
