PHOTOS: Chanel Turns Cara Delevingne Into Marie Antoinette For Resort 2013

Cara Delevingne is the face of Chanel’s Resort 2013 campaign, in which the model gives her best impression of Marie Antoinette.

The label’s Resort 2013 show was actually held at in the gardens at Versailles, so the campaign continues Karl Lagerfeld‘s romantic vision of the ancien régime for the season. Cara lounges around in a room covered in opulent gold wallpaper, in updated versions (and when we say updated versions, we mean “versions that use a lot less fabric”) of very period-specific clothes, the house’s signature jackets, and a few pieces of enamel jewelry.  We have to say, this is one of our favorite campaigns in a while. It’s soft and feminine as well as intriguing, and the images are undeniably beautiful. Check it out and tell us what you think:
