Carine Roitfeld Joins Harper’s Bazaar As Global Fashion Director

Carine Roitfeld has just been named the new global fashion director at Harper’s Bazaar, a Hearst publication.

As noted in a release on Bazaar’s website this morning, the former editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris will work with creative director Stephen Gan on editorials and possible covers for all 26 international editions of the mag starting in the March 2013 issues. Of course, Roitfeld will still be able to work on her own glossy CR Book, which launched in September. She said in a statement:

“I am thrilled to be contributing to BAZAAR, a brand with a rich history of creativity. Working with Stephen and a roster of talented photographers will be a wonderful collaboration and one that will give these stories a truly global audience.”
