PHOTO: Carla Bruni On The Cover Of ELLE France

When we saw the words “Carla Bruni” and “Pregnant” and “ELLE France Cover” in the same sentence, we got a little (embarrassingly) excited. Carla Bruni! Pregnant! On the cover of ELLE France! In the words of Chandler Bing, could there be a more perfect Styleite story? And then we saw the whole cover.

Is this a joke? We hope its a joke. Because when we see the words “Carla Bruni” and “Pregnant” and “ELLE France Cover” in the same sentence, we’re thinking things like, “Was it Testino? Demarchelier? Ooh, or maybe Inez and Vinoodh?” and not things like, “Huh, we’re pretty sure we saw that photo a few weeks ago in our Getty subscription.” Which is what this cover is.

A look back at past ELLE France covers (see gallery below) reveals the distinct possibility that this is a real thing. They manage to vary from awesome to catalogue cover in less than three months.
