Carnie Wilson Fired From Diet Program For Not Losing Weight

Former Wilson Phillips singer Carnie Wilson has been fired from her job as the face of The Fresh Diet because she didn’t lose enough weight while she was on the program. Yes. You read that correctly.

The singer agreed to eat only food from The Fresh Diet and to do all the things that spokespeople get to do — she was even on the program’s website. But its spokespeople decided to take her off when they discovered that she’d been promoting a line of cheesecakes while she was promoting their diet plan.

“[Wilson] didn’t stick to it, and she didn’t lose weight. We had to cut ties with her,” said publicist Ezzy Duchman in an interview with The Daily Mail.

The Fresh Diet metes out three meals and two snacks a day, and as far as the company is concerned, Wilson piled a whole lotta cheesecake on top of that. But Wilson’s camp says she stuck to the diet and actually lost about 20 pounds, and now they’re accusing The Fresh Diet of breach of contract.

Granted, schilling for a cheesecake company and a diet-food delivery service at the same time kinda sends mixed messages, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that Wilson was eating cheesecake when she should have been snacking on roasted asparagus spears with walnuts and goat cheese.

Wilson has been vocal about her issues with weight for years, so if this plan was actually working for her, The Fresh Diet might be losing a big opportunity to demonstrate how effective it can be by firing her so readily. Or maybe it just doesn’t work.
