WATCH: Ford’s Newest Male Model Is Actually A Woman

First came transgender muse and model Lea T, then Andrej Pejic and his eye-catching androgyny, and now, Casey Legler, a woman, is working as a male model for Ford.

In an interview with TIME, Legler recounts how she started modeling as a man (as a favor for photog friend Cass Bird), why she signed with Ford’s male model division, the decision to shave her head bald after she qualified for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, and the inspiration behind her own art work. It’s amazing to hear her story, and it’s great to see that the industry is so open about it. Watch the whole thing below:
