Wait, There Was Actually A Cat Fashion Show?

We read through a lot of fashion news on a daily basis and, we’ll be honest, we don’t always have time to give everything a thorough perusal. So yesterday, when we kept seeing mentions of cats, and fashion, and shows, we sort of thought nothing of it and figured it was probably all stemming from one of Urlesque’s trademark cat posts. Well, how wrong we were.

While we’re still getting over the sting of not being invited, it turns out there was an actual Cat Fashion Show in the lobby of New York’s storied Algonquin Hotel on Wednesday night — all part of the birthday celebration of the hotel’s 15-year-old cat Matilda.

Thankfully, Gothamist was there — camera and all — to capture what may be one of animal fashion’s brightest moments.
