Cathy Horyn On The Hedi Slimane Feud: ‘It’s Just Silly Nonsense’
We’ll admit we were curious as to what Cathy Horyn thought about Hedi Slimane‘s vituperative Twitter takedown yesterday, which called the New York Times critic, “a schoolyard bully and also a little bit of a standup comedian,” insulted her style, and declared she would never be seated at a Saint Laurent show again, though she “might get a 2 for 1 at Dior.”
However, Horyn has retained the upper hand by staying mum about the messy situation, with the exception of a one-liner she granted WWD when they reached her for comment last night in Paris:
“It’s just silly nonsense to me.”
As everyone from Oscar de la Renta to Lady Gaga flings ever-more-childish insults at the controversial critic, we’re inclined to think she’ll be the one who comes out on top. Even if she probably won’t be sitting front row at YSL anytime soon.
