11-Year-Old Cecilia Cassini Is Getting Her Own Reality Show

We were first introduced to 11-year-old “clothing designer” Cecilia Cassini via The Today Show back in April, and even then we knew this girl was going to be a press machine. But by October, we were concerned about how much attention Cassini was getting — and Nate Berkus raised a similar worry when she stopped by his show, asking her to promise him to take some time to be a child. Reality show rumors were already swirling, but today’s WWD confirms that the sixth grader will indeed be starring in a docu-series about her life.

While details about the show are still “under wraps,” Cassini did open up to the trade paper about her favorite trends, shoes, designers, and stores. She owns 15 pairs of shoes (though she wishes she “owned 300″), her fashion idol is Coco Chanel, she believes strongly that Uggs never go out of style, and loves to browse the selection at bigger stores like Barneys.

It’s hard to hate on an 11-year-old — and that’s not at all our intention, but we can’t help but point out that Cassini already bears more than just a passing resemblance to Willy Wonka’s most infamous brat, Veruca Salt. Is a reality show really the best decision?

For a little more context, here’s a clip of a red carpet interview with Cassini from last year:

Oh my god, the way she talks. I can’t stand her already. Definitely reeks of overindulged rich girl along the Veruca Salt vein.

Please lord no. She is going to bring down the industry (in a bad way). Just the sound of her makes me want to vomit.

The way she talks puts my teeth on edge– I wonder if it’s something she’ll outgrow. If either of my daughters talks like this (once they outgrow their current toddler-speak) I will be sure they don’t get too far down that road. But more important than how they sound is what they choose to say. This girl doesn’t seem to be aware of how obnoxious and privileged she sounds.

Is it just me or does she remind you Snooki?
but like, she was like, so, like, right
“dresses are amazing. like because then you dont need pants. because like, a dress”

    kill. me. now.

She doesnt sound privileged, she just sounds arrogant. Most young people I knew during my son’s growing up years neither sounded nor acted like she did. And they ALL shopped at Fred Segal. And personally, I think that dress neither flatters nor fits her that well.

Guys, stop giving her crap! I mean come on shes only 11,she deserves to have a dream. You people are acting like the spoiled ones not her. She is successful if you people would bother to learn more about her and stop acting ignorant!
