CFDA Extends DVF’s Term As President
It seems the rules don’t apply for legendary designer Diane von Furstenberg. Today, WWD announced that the CFDA has decided to extend DVF’s presidential term for a third year, despite the organization’s two-year maximum. Furstenberg will now remain as president through 2012. And who knows? Maybe it will extend even further.
Previous CFDA president, designer Stan Herman, held the position for fifteen years before the two year term limit was put into place. Is DVF following in his footsteps? It would be no surprise. From the beginning of her term, the CFDA has been more than pleased with DVF’s work and according to WWD, the organization did not hesitate to extend her tenure.
