PHOTOS: Our Favorite Lots From The CFDA’s Japan Auction
by Justin Fenner | 2:10 pm, April 6th, 2011
Lots of brands and individuals in the fashion industry have been quick to find ways to donate money to the people and institutions still reeling from the tsunami and earthquake that struck Japan last month. But strength lies in numbers, which is why we’re especially excited by the way members of the Council of Fashion Designers of America have banded together to auction off over 100 fashion-filled lots and prizes, like front row seats at fashion shows and meetings with some of our favorite designers. All of the proceeds will go to benefit The Japan Society , and we’ve included some of our favorite lots below. The auction started on Charity Buzz yesterday and will close on April 28th. If you had the money, which one of these awesome packages would you bid on?

In the meantime, enjoy the html version below. I guess. If that's your thing.
1. A Trip To Paris From Ralph Lauren
A weekend in Paris sounds divine, but it can be a total train wreck if you don't do it right. And the package Ralph Lauren is auctioning off gets it right: two first class tickets from New York to the City of Lights, two nights in a deluxe suite at the Bristol Hotel , dinner for two at the Ralph's restaurant and two tickets to see Lauren's automobile exhibit at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs . The hardest part of this lot is picking who to take with you.
2. Lunch With Tim Gunn And Your Best Friends
We have had the immense privilege to stand in the same room as Tim Gunn on a number of occasions, but we can't imagine what it would be like to break bread with the man. But you and five of your friends could find out exactly what that's like -- plus get some award-winning style advice -- if you put the winning bid on this package .
3. A Lunch And Style Consultation With Rachel Zoe
Someone else we've always wanted to break bread with? Rachel Zoe . At this point she's not a stylist so much as she is an American cultural institution, and we'd love to really pick her brain about fashion, personal style, celebrity, being a new mom and a variety of other topics. And then we'd let her tell us why we're wearing the wrong shoes and be happy about it. Oh, you would, too? Bid now .
4. A Wardrobe From The Row and Elizabeth & James
This prize is pretty great: Not only do you get to meet Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen at the headquarters of their media and fashion empire, you get to take home a suitcase full of clothes from their lines The Row and Elizabeth & James . The clothes are great, so we expect this will be one of the most sought after lots in the auction.
5. A Week In Diane von Furstenberg's Beach Villa
Why yes, we would like to spend a week living the way Diane von Furstenberg does when she goes on vacation. DVF is auctioning off some choice time at her villa on Harbour Island for you and three guests. But before you go, you get at $1,000 shopping spree at any one of her boutiques. Wearing DVF in DVF's house? Where do we sign?
6. A Made To Measure Suit From Tom Ford
We can't even write down the things we would do to own one of Tom Ford's suits, much less to have one custom fitted for us. But that's what this package gets you: a suit designed by an influential designer, fitted by a master tailor in the fabric of your choice. You're more or less guaranteed never to look bad in it. Again, where do we sign?
7. A Custom Dress From Olivier Theyskens
Wunderkind Theory designer Olivier Theyskens is probably one of the most talented men in fashion. And while you could be boring and just hop onto the Theory website to buy one of his dresses, you could also bid for the chance to have him create a dress specifically for you. The decision is yours.
