PHOTOS: The $1000 Shoe That Makes Your Feet Look Like Dog Paws

In the past three weeks, both Sarah Jessica Parker and Blake Lively have been spotted wearing the Christian Louboutin Alex shoe, a high heel designed to make your foot look it’s stuffed into a very expensive, rhinestone bedecked lion’s paw. And to be quite honest, we’re not entirely certain that’s the best thing people should be putting on their feet.

Because in theory, the shoes are fierce. With their pointed, crystal claws and sort of lifelike lion-skin appearance, they are literally and stylistically ferocious. If you kicked someone when you were wearing them, you would probably draw blood — just like with the swipe of some large African cat’s paw.

But here’s the thing: They’re ugly. And not in “We know they’re ugly, BUT THEY’RE SO COOL” kind of way. In a, “Wow, that is a legitimately ugly shoe” way. As cool as it might sound to make your feet look a little more feline, putting a claw-shaped shoe on them makes them look clunky. The Alex heel might be way, way diva, but it’s also clunky. And cats are supposed to be lots of things, but last time we checked clunky was not one of them.

Oh, we’re sorry. We don’t mean to offend you if you’re actually thinking about buying these shoes (we can’t actually find the retail price on them, but they’re made out of camel and the heels are covered in crystals, so we wouldn’t be surprised if they were in the $1,000 range), we just know you can do better!     The toes are so fucked up looking. I could make a really cute pair for less than thirty dollars (retarded stones not included) that would use NO animal products. I wish the toes actually touched the ground and weren’t all spread out and derp looking. Ugh. So ugly!
