Off With Their Heels! Louboutin Goes Down The Rabbit Hole
There’s not much one would have to do to sell a pair of red-soled stilettos. In fact, we’ve got a sneaky suspicion that a plain white backdrop and some basic overhead lighting would entice most women. But never one to eschew (or for that matter, e-shoe) the fantastic in the name of the frugal, consider the latest from Christian Louboutin. Inspired by — you guessed it! — Alice in Wonderland, the hand-drawn (by artist Khuong Nguyen) series of adverts for his AW10-11 collection trips it down the rabbit hole in truly fanciful fashion.
Now certainly, the couture cobbler isn’t the first to tap into the sartorial power of Lewis Caroll’s classic tome, but nonetheless our curiosities were piqued by the range of eye-popping images, not to mention the hare-raising shoes — fittingly like something out of a fairy tale, right? Of course, any of these queen of heart-stopping pairs would look mighty fine in the old looking glass. Now, off with those heels…
