PHOTOS: Who Was Best Dressed At The CMT Awards?
The purple carpet at last night’s CMT Awards received a heavy dose of embellished gowns, nude-colored frocks, and leftover prom dresses. Let’s dissect the looks.
Carrie Underwood, Denise Richards, Elizabeth Cook, Grace Potter, Jana Kramer, Sara Evans, and Skylar Laine all wore sequined, glittery, and/or beaded gowns. Some of the dresses were actually pretty (like Bell’s gold Reem Acra), but most weren’t. Underwood failed to make her Randi Rahm minidress edgier with black booties, Evans’s longsleeved dress looked cheap, and Laine’s mullet-dress was just tacky. Next!
Ashley Greene, Kelli Pickler, and Shawna Thompson chose flesh-toned dresses that were safe, but yawn-worthy. Even Greene couldn’t werk her Donna Karan Atelier dress, and that’s saying a lot. Next!
Leftover prom dresses is probably the worst category to be in. Jennie Garth‘s one-shoulder Gabriela Cadena dress looked sad and Paige Duc‘s tiered mullet-dress was tragic. And she wore cowboy boots! Even worse were the hems on Ali Dee, Laura Bell Bundy, and Rachel Holder‘s dresses. What is going on down there?
