Would You Go To Condé Nast Fashion School?

The Condé Nast fashion school is becoming a reality. Condé Nast UK is opening up the Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design in London next September. That’s a whole lot of “Condé Nast” in two short sentences.

We’re not quite sure how this degree and/or accreditation situation works, but we do know the school will take 300 students the first year, and will offer BA and MA-level courses. There will be a “year-long British Vogue fashion foundation course, as well as 10-week intensive fashion courses”. The school will also offer classes in journalism, history, business, and interior design. (House & Garden will head up the home decor department.)

Women’s Wear Daily reports that Easy Living editor Susie Forbes will the college’s “principal”, which we guess is like a dean. Something about this just sounds cheesy, right? Like it won’t be a real school? Condé is incredibly legitimate, but this sort of feels like when restaurants offer cooking classes. The classes are totally cool and can be taught by master chefs, but you aren’t getting an actual formal education. But who knows, maybe we’re wrong and the school will overtake Central Saint Martins!
