Crystal Renn Shot Her Chanel Campaign In Karl’s Childhood Bed
Crystal Renn is as smart as she is beautiful — and she is really beautiful. We’ve always enjoyed looking at the model’s pretty pictures, but also listening to her speak about important issues in the fashion industry. As such, we were downright tickled when we spotted her at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of Karl Lagerfeld‘s Magnum ice cream shorts.
We felt like we were chatting with an old (and incredibly chic) friend, and blushed when she commented on our style. Which is all to say: girl crush alert! So, what are her thoughts on Karl and the like?
On working with the Kaiser:
“The man is multi-faceted. He’s incredible. You learn so much just by being in his presence. I’ve done a few shows with him, and I’ve also done the campaign. When we shot the campaign, I shot it in his childhood bed! It was fantastic and with Baptiste, which was amazing.”
Renn was blown away by Lagerfeld’s impressive book collection, since she’s a voracious reader herself:
“I’m actually reading The Power of Now, based on a recommendation by 10 people. So far, it rings true to everything I kind of know inherently already. I also read Dorian Gray recently. It’s a classic, but also a very appropriate thing to read for my job. I try to always remember that book every day.”
After watching the Magnum shorts, Renn was craving some ice cream bars (as were we!). While we waited for the treats to circulate, Renn joked about running to the deli and picking one up. We would have gone with her! She was also a good sport when we asked her about fashionable food:
“Well, I have to say squids are remarkably fashionable, especially when raw. What else would you do with a squid with Terry Richardson? You would of course know what to do! I think a raw squid is quite fashionable — better than the blood sausage!”
Yup, full-on girl crush.
