PHOTOS: Crystal Renn Being A Hat Lady For Vogue Nippon
We’re obsessed with hats. From fascinating fascinators to swanky scarves tied under the chin we have long loved the colorful constructions of cloth and feathers that women put on top of their heads. So when we saw Crystal Renn wearing a variety of hats in this spread from the June edition of Vogue Nippon, we knew we had to share it with you.
Because these aren’t just hats — these are superhats. (Did we just make up a word?) They’re turbans on crack. They’re slouchy and soft and shocking at the same time. We don’t read Japanese so we can’t tell for sure, but we’re certain at least one of them wasn’t originally intended to be a hat.
The spread, shot by Nathaniel Goldberg, is called A Call For Camp, and it certainly makes a good case for the return of pattern mixing and craziness and outlandishness. Because after a spring season of chic minimalism and not much else, what could be more refreshing than a really crazy hat? Feast your eyes on all of it below:
