Cynthia Nixon Says Fashion Just Ain’t Her Thing

In Sex and the City, Cynthia Nixon is known for her character Miranda’s Upper West Side mommy-elegance. Whether brunching with the girls or toting around the adorable, red-headed Brody, Miranda always looks purposely messy, yet perfectly dressed for her character’s life.

But what of Cynthia’s real life, away from Miranda, Carrie, Samantha, and Charlotte? On the red carpet, we’re used to seeing her in simple shift dresses with the occasional print. Rarely is she dressed memorably, steering her clear of both the best- and worst-dressed lists.

Apparently Nixon finds shopping boring and tedious. “Christine [my fiancée] is the clothes shopper,” she told The Advocate in an interview for their June 2010 issue. “I hate it. Fashion is just not my thing. It’s just not where my head is.”

Considering Nixon is a part of the cast of one of the most fashionable television and now film series of all time, we just hope that Christine likes fashion enough for the both of them.
