TIME WARP: Diane von Furstenberg Was One Foxy ’70s Cover Girl

Diane von Furstenberg is one of our favorite girl power fashion heroes, but did you know she was also a magazine cover girl? The stunning designer posed for the cover of Newsweek back in 1976 in her iconic wrap dress. FOXY!

Of a Kind unearthed this gem, and we just can’t stop staring. That face! That dress! That pose! She totally rules. It also helps that we’re obsessed with the reason she designed said dress in the first place. There’s also a nice little bio of DVF over at the world’s first Tumblr store, and we learned a few new things about the style superstar.

Fun facts include that she married her first husband, Prince Egon von Furstenberg, in a Dior wedding gown, and that she married her second husband, Barry Diller, twenty-five years after their first date. And did you have any clue DVF left fashion in 1985 to start a publishing house in Paris? When she came back six years later, she sold her wares on QVC! It wasn’t until 1997 that she bought her line back and resumed her reign over her eponymous label. Fascinating!

So, how good does she look? SO GOOD.
