WATCH: DvF Defends Women And Waists Around The World

No one needs to tell us that Diane von Furstenberg designs some of the most flattering clothing out there — but it’s still amazing to see how staunchly she sticks to her “It Must Look Good!” guns. Full Frontal Fashion — the geniuses behind Sundance Channel’s “The Day Before” series — has released some preview clips of this season’s episodes. And while it’s always fun to watch Alexander Wang count out his models and wax poetic on his inspiration, it’s von Furstenberg’s tirade against the boyfriend blazer that has us swooning.
In the first video, von Furstenberg rails against the idea that one of her looks needs a “boyfriend blazer” to toughen it up.
“It’s a boring boyfriend!” she says. “I like the concept, but it’s not flattering. It makes her thick.” And when the employee argues that they need one because “it’s a fashion statement,” von Furstenberg responds flatly, “I don’t care about fashion. I care about women.”

In the second video, von Furstenberg continues to expound on her pro-female manifesto.
“When a women wakes up and opens her closet, my clothes are her friends… And that’s why I’m so particular.”
And as someone who has woken up, opened her closet, and thought every item was an enemy out to get her, von Furstenberg’s particularity is right on the money.
