Donald Trump Would Like Us To Know ‘It’s Not A Toupee’
The last thing we thought when a Trump envelope arrived in the Styleite mailbox was that it would be a personal note from The Donald. A press release touting his daughter’s jewelry line? Sure. An invite to some industry event being held at one of his hotels? We’d be flattered! But those guesses couldn’t have been further from the truth.
On April 28th, we reported that the Australian station FOX8 had aired a commercial showing Donald’s ‘do being blown off of his head. Ultimately, the station was forced to take the ad, which was promoting Trump’s Apprentice, off the air.
Our headline, for purposes both aesthetic and alliterative, was: “Donald Trump’s Toupée Is Too Sensitive For TV.”
“I DON’T wear a toupée,” read the note Donald wrote (in Sharpie!) to Styleite on a black and white print out of the article. “It’s ALL mine (for better or worse).” It was signed, Donald Trump.
Not being ones to run inaccurate stories, we’d like to take this opportunity apologize to Donald and offer the following correction: Donald’s toupée is not too sensitive for TV after all — only his combover.
