WATCH: Jimmy Fallon And Brooke Shields Star In Downton Sixbey
The first episode of Jimmy Fallon‘s Downton Abbey parody series Downton Sixbey debuted last night, and boy does it give The Fresh Prince Of Downton Abbey a run for its pounds sterling.
Hats off to the show for the brilliant casting: Fallon, of course, stars as the Earl of Downton Sixbey, managing to keep his composure alongside Brooke Shields, who plays his American wife Lady Nora (“Howdy, indeed.”) A.D. Miles does a mean Dowager Countess, while Fred Armisen shines as the unfortunate Lady Hedith. That’s right: Fred Armisen. Lady Hedith. So good.
In the first episode, Fallon urges his butler to have a word with the writers (“There was not a single Kardashian joke in the monologue tonight!”) and faces a crisis when the heir to Downton Sixbey, Carson Daley, is presumed killed in a hot air balloon crash with Christina Aguilera. Whoever will inherit the title? Why, you’ll just have to watch it to find out!
