One Royal Wedding Dress Has Been Confirmed!
If Kate Middleton‘s wedding dress plans have been shrouded in secrecy and non-dislosure agreements, her soon to be stepmother-in-laws are anything but. Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, will be wearing a dress by designer Anna Valentine to the royal wedding.
And why does this matter? Because Camilla wore a gray coat and full-length sheath dress designed by Valentine at her own wedding to Prince Charles in 2005. That indicates to us (although it’s no surprise) that the ladies who will attend Kate and Prince William‘s wedding probably won’t go too far outside of the box when it comes to picking their outfits.
WWD reported yesterday that Valentine, who is known for her simple clean clothing and creative use of pleats, also be created something for Camilla’s daughter Laura Parker Bowles to wear to her wedding. The Duchess of Cornwall has worn Valentine’s designs both at home and abroad, and has even attended a few of her fashion shows.
But Valentine, like many other British designers who seem a likely pick for the task of creating Kate Middleton’s dress, has said she isn’t designing The Big Dress. She also isn’t talking about what her new creation for the Duchess will look like.
For the moment, though, we have another piece of tomorrow’s gigantic and glamorous puzzle!
