SJP Covers Elle, Won’t Play The ‘Poor Man’s’ Carrie Bradshaw
Elle‘s annual “Women in Hollywood” issue is here, and on the cover is a woman who does not, in fact, live in Tinseltown at all, but rather right here in NYC: Sarah Jessica Parker!
“Hollywood,” however, is more a state of mind than a point on the map (and if you’re using iOS6 maybe not even that), so SJP is a natural fit. For the cover, the actress was shot by Alexi Lubomirski in a strapless Calvin Klein dress with a serious set of cut-outs at the waist — not a look for the faint of heart. Parker also chats with the magazine about her future projects and why there will never be another Carrie Bradshaw (high school version excepted, of course):
“I don’t love the idea of playing another woman who loves fashion and is slightly flawed in New York City. I loved Carrie, and I don’t want to do the poor man’s version of her. And while those are often the lucrative things to do, it’s more reason to look in the other direction.”
Inside the issue, which hits newsstands October 16th, she is joined by fellow leading ladies Octavia Spencer, Emma Watson, and Elle Fanning — who, at 14, seems a tad young for a “Women in Hollywood” feature, but we’ll let it slide since, as you’ll see below, she’s pretty much the most sophisticated-looking ninth-grader on the planet:
