Which Fashion Figure Should Replace Ellen On American Idol?
![]()
For American Idol fans, it was the tweet heard ’round the twittosphere last night when Ellen DeGeneres announced that after only one season, she’d be leaving her post as judge.
FOX announced her statement of departure:
“A couple of months ago, I let Fox and the ‘American Idol’ producers know that this didn’t feel like the right fit for me. It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I’d bargained for.”
To help you cope, we decided that we’d offer some suggestions of Idol judge replacements. And we believe a fashionably savvy judge would be a good fit for the show. After all, how many times have we been left scratching our heads, wondering who on earth styled the contestants? If you ask us, a style focused judge is just what the doctor would order! So whom should it be? Here are five people we think should join the judges table.
Glenda Bailey (1 of 5)
She may not be in the spotlight as much as some other editor in chiefs, but Glenda Bailey's love of pop culture could make her a great fit. She's gusty, fashion forward, and has an aura of power that would make contestants strive to be more stylistically successful.

I vote for Kelly Cutrone. She tells it like it is and doesn’t pull any punches.
