PHOTOS: The 6 Worst Dressed Stars At This Year’s Emmy Awards
For a red carpet that we would characterize as fairly vanilla, there were still some looks from last night’s
Emmy Awards that we found sartorially offensive.
From dresses that didn’t fit properly to those with super weird embellishments, we’ve picked out the evening’s worst ensembles. Who looked the
most terrible? That’s for you to decide. Click through the slideshow below, and tell us what you think in the comments!
1.Julianna Margulies in Armani Privé
Armani Privé gown seems to have been the most universally detested of the night. We came to this conclusion thanks to the high volume of texts and Gchats we received from friends and family alike being all, "Ew, WTF Julianna Margulies". We appreciate her attempt at couture, but that bodice is exceptionally ill-fitting and those plastic stones/bubbles/whatever are truly hideous.
2.Dianna Agron in Roksanda Ilincic
Dianna is one of the prettiest people in the world, but this
Roksanda Ilincic dress is doing some bad, bad things. For starters, the fabric looks cheap — and the color makes it look even cheaper. Not to mention, the fit is atrocious! It's drapey in all the wrong ways. Even her big ol' earrings can't save this look.
3.Jayma Mays in Zuhair Murad
When Andie Walsh wore a version of this dress to prom in
Pretty in Pink, we were charmed. She made it herself! But when Jayma wore this Zuhair Murad creation on the red carpet, we shuddered. The tiered skirt would be bad enough without the rhinestone studs, and the sleeves make us reconsider our we-hate-strapless-dresses stance. This look is both saccharine and ugly — not a good combination.
4.Olivia Munn in Carolina Herrera
We were shocked to learn
Carolina Herrera designed Olivia's gown, and even more surprised that anyone let her walk out of the house in it. The boob bagginess, the back fabric loop, the awful shade of green, and the less-than-flattering print combine in a way that leaves us utterly flabbergasted that this made it to the red carpet.
5.Louise Roe in Nicole Miller
Louise looks like she's ready to take a stroll on the beach in her
Nicole Miller frock. It reads more maxidress than evening down, and we're irritated that the skirt drapes strangely and involves weird embroidery. Also...halter? But why?! At least her ring seems cool.
6.Zooey Deschanel in Monique Lhuillier
Zooey took the whole twee trope too far with this
Monique Lhuillier dress. She looks like she's going to a high school dance in her strapless Pepto Bismol-hued number! We normally support red/pink color combos, but the ribbon is just too too. The one thing the dress does have going for it is pockets. We love a good pocket.
