Contrary to popular belief, the fashion world does have a sense of humor, and despite the fact that magazines are in the tank and brands are struggling to stay above water, everyone seems to be coming out to play for April Fool’s Day. Here are some of our favorite fashion-related jokes of the day.

We try not to even joke about such a travesty as the Ed Hardy designer acquiring anything even remotely of worth, but can’t help applauding Fashion Indie for a good laugh. The Audigier takeover plans were announced this morning, with the added bonus of reshaping the editorial focus from New York’s fashion elite to such Hollywood luminaries as the cast of The Jersey Shore. Believable? Not at all. But any time you put Christian Audigier’s name on anything you’re guaranteed a good laugh.

We all know how popular the pet fashion industry is. Who’s next to cash in on the craze? Glamour magazine. Glamour takes the prize for the most intricate prank ever. They completely redesigned their website, created content — even in the Sex, Love & Life section! — and sent out a press release announcing their new pet-focused direction. Not sure how much longer the Mating Tips section will stay up, but I highly suggest checking it out before April Fools’ ends.
