CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Announces 10 Finalists
The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Initiative, an organization dedicated to aiding up-and-coming American designers on the path to realizing their dreams, announced the finalists in its annual Fashion Fund Competition today.
The contest consists of a series of challenges, starting with each designer presenting their entire collection to a panel of judges, and then moving on to designing a piece of jewelry for Tiffany’s and putting on a runway show in L.A. Here are the names of all 10 finalists and their respective brand names, as per Vogue‘s website:
Andrea Lieberman, A.L.C.
Greg Armas, Assembly New York
Sofia Sizzi, Giulietta
Justin Salguero, Daniel Silberman, and Alina Silberman; Illesteva
Jennifer Fisher, Jennifer Fisher Jewelry
Jennifer Meyer Maguire, Jennifer Meyer
Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty, Suno
Tabitha Simmons, Tabitha Simmons
Greg Chait, The Elder Statesman
Wes Gordon, Wes Gordon
Last year’s winner was Joseph Altuzarra, and the runners up were Pamela Love and Creatures of the Wind’s Shane Gabier and Christopher Peters, so we’re sure we can expect great things from this year’s winner, who will be announced at a gala on November 13. The competition starts at the end of this month, and last year Altuzarra took home $300,000 in cash, so the grand prize is going to be big. Good luck to all finalists!
