The Styleite Guide To FNO’s 21 Biggest And Baddest Events
by Styleite Staff | 4:14 pm, September 8th, 2010
We’re still having some difficulty wrapping our heads around the chaotic organized fabulousness that is Fashion’s Night Out — it’s happening this Friday night! This year the nighttime shopping extravaganza has been ramped up with more stores open and more events to cover, and we’re going to try and see as much of it as we can — without driving ourselves crazy, of course. We already gave you a list of the best events in each of New York’s many neighborhoods and in other parts of the world. And now, we’ve finalized the list of events we’re going to try our hardest to attend. From Midtown to the West Village, SoHo to the Meatpacking District, here’s where you’ll find us on Fashion’s Night Out.

1. Piperlime Pop-Up Shop
While Piperlime's pop-up shop will be sticking around for another 24 days after Fashion's Night Out, we can't imagine skipping their event on the big night. Rachel Zoe will be on hand along with the cast of Project Runway until 11PM! Bananas!
Until 11PM. 93 Mercer Street.
2. Club Monaco
Amazing shopping, delicious food, and free drinks -- what more could we ask for? Oh, a vintage polaroid taken by Victor Demarchelier? Why, thank you! What's that? Styling advice from Vogue's Jessica Sailer? Don't mind if we do!
7PM - 10PM; 121 Prince Street.
3. Bergdorf Goodman
Tom Ford (!) will be making an appearance at his Bergdorf men shop from 8-8:30, signing all beauty purchases made that day. TOM. FORD.
6PM - 11PM; 754 Fifth Avenue.
4. Refinery 29 and Diane von Furstenberg
This is almost too much for our happy hearts to handle! One of our favorite sites paired with one of our favorite designers -- topped with bubbly by Moët, cameos by Olivia Palermo and Molly Sims, and tunes spun by model Elisa Sednaoui. What more could we ask for?
6PM - 11PM; 874 Washington Street.
5. Barbie's Mobile Ken Doll Truck
If you can catch the truck while it travels between Fifth Avenue and an undisclosed location in the Meatpacking District, you can take your photo with a few real-life Ken dolls. Follow them on twitter @OfficialKen if you want to keep tabs on where it'll be.
6. Teen Vogue and ASOS.com
Sally Hersberger hair treatments? We're listening. MARK makeup? You have our attention. A full-on, live fashion show, performances by VV Brown and Shenae Grimes DJing with Andrew Bevan? Count us in.
7:30-11:00; Bleecker Street between Perry and W 4th
7. Michael Kors
We knew Michael Kors could hold his own as a TV personality, but who knew he could sing? And if the thought of Michael belting it out doesn't excite you enough, he'll be performing with the inimitable Idina Menzel.
Time TBD; 667 Madison Avenue.
8. Elizabeth and James
If you check out between 7 and 8 pm, there's a chance that Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen might actually ring up your purchase. If that wasn't enough, there will be Tarot card readings, henna tattoo artists and popcorn. And we love popcorn.
6pm-11pm; 632 Hudson Street
9. SportMax
We grew up listening to Sonic Youth and, though we've gotten taller, our love for Kim Gordon hasn't gotten any smaller. Fellow Sonic Youth-er Thurston Moore will be DJing which means we'll be there.
6PM - 11PM, 450 West Broadway.
10. Opening Ceremony at the Ace Hotel
Styled after a Parisian flea market, Opening Ceremony's Fashion's Night Out event will feature exclusive goodies from Styleite faves Alexander Wang, Proenza Schouler and Rodarte. Considering we'd happily hang out in the Ace Lobby on your average Tuesday, we wouldn't miss it on Friday.
5PM - 12AM; 29th and Broadway.
11. Saks Fifth Avenue
Zac Posen is just one of the many illustrious guests who will be hanging out at Saks Friday night. Donna Karan, Charlotte Ronson and Viktor & Rolf will join Posen in a fashion "sketch-off," which admittedly sounds awesome.
6PM - 11PM; 611 Fifth Avenue.
12. Theory
Music by Andrew Wyatt of Miiike Snow, shopping with the likes of Annabel Tollman, Kate Young, and Dani Stahl, and a killer location makes this one event we won't miss.
5 - 11PM; 40 Gansevoort Street .
13. Barneys
Simon Doonan + the Olsens = OMG. Throw the Proenza Schouler boys, the Rodarte sisters and Alexander Wang into the mix, and how could you resist? Plus, Barneys will be selling a special edition FNO Alexander McQueen scarf.
6PM - 11PM; 660 Madison Avenue.
14. Kate Spade
Two words: Tim Gunn.
454 Broome Street
15. Helmut Lang
We are not at all intimidated by the fact that Mark Hunter, the photographer behind The Cobrasnake, will be at Helmut Lang's Meatpacking District store to document guests dancing to DJ Harley Viera Newton. We are also not afraid of the drinks provided by Death & Company -- they actually might help us be a little more photogenic.
Time TBD; 819 Washington Street
16. Tory Burch
Tory Burch is revamping the classic block party with food from the Shake Shack and music by DJ Cassidy. Every customer who spends $100 or more will be given a limited edition tote bag that's only available on Fashion's Night Out.
Time TBD; 38-40 Little West 12th Street
17. 3.1 Phillip Lim and Rag & Bone
We love street parties -- especially ones where they serve burgers, fries, and milkshakes. Also: mini makeovers!
6PM - 9PM; 119 Mercer Street.
18. Lanvin
We want pretty much everything Alber Elbaz cooks up. Including the limited edition (there's only 100!) FNO $20 Lanvin bingo boards. Oh, and the bingo prize? An Amalia handbag. Yes please.
6:30PM; 815 Madison Avenue.
19. Salvatore Ferragamo
Alek Wek and Elettra Weidemann will be on hand to help Ferragamo launch their W bag. We also dig that 20% of sales from the evening benefit the Whitney.
7PM - 9PM; 655 Fifth Avenue.
20. UGG and Jimmy Choo
On Friday, UGG will unveil their limited edition Jimmy Choo collection as well as their entire Fall line. Drinks and snacks by City Bakery, music by DJ Vikas -- and, we'll be honest, we just need to see what these hybrid shoes are gonna look like.
6PM - 11PM; 79 Mercer Street, between Spring and Broome.
21. Jil Sander
Jil Sander at prices we can actually afford? That's what her Navy line is for! We'll be snagging a sneak preview of the collection while we obsess over host of the party Garance Dore and her oh-so-French hair.
7PM - 11PM; 30 Howard Street.
