Remembering Vogue Hommes International‘s Francesco Cominelli

Several fashion publications have had the heavy task of reporting that Vogue Hommes International staffer Francesco Cominelli was found dead in his apartment yesterday. From Paris to New York and all around the world, members of the fashion industry have expressed their great sadness at his loss.

Cominelli had been fashion editor of the Paris-based international men’s magazine since 2009. He was a graduate of the photography school at the prestigious European Institute of Design in Milan, after which he spent a year in New York City interning for V Magazine. Another year interning at Vogue Hommes International in Paris followed. After a brief stint working on his own menswear line in Italy, Cominelli returned to Paris to work as a stylist for the magazine.

While Cominelli’s age and cause of death were not readily available as of this post, no such information could make this news more bearable for those who knew him. GQ wrote that “one need only Google the man to find many testaments to his superior taste, and endearing spirit” — and that much is true. Cominelli was beloved not only for his personality, but also for his style, and the presence of his photos on style blogs of all stripes is a testament to that.

Our thoughts go out to his family, friends and anyone else mourning the loss of Cominelli’s life, style and talent.
