François Pinault Is Looking To Acquire Several Newspapers
French businessman François Pinault, who runs luxury conglomerate PPR with his son François-Henri Pinault, is reportedly trying to purchase a division of Groupe Hersant Média, which owns several regional newspapers.
WWD says that, should Pinault acquire the division, he would own regional dailies La Provence and Nice-Matin. Pinault has owned several French papers since the ’90s through Artémis, the holding company that controls PPR. GHM has a few other potential buyers and all parties declined to comment, so nothing is certain, but we won’t be surprised if Pinault ends up adding a few more media outlets to his empire.
