Glamour Goes Glitzy With 3 April Covers

Glamour went extra glam this month for their 50 Most Glam Women of 2010 issue. Leighton Meester, Amanda Seyfried, and Zoe Saldana each graced their own April cover, wearing a minidress more sparkly (and shorter) than the next.

It’s hard to choose a favorite; each girl looks absolutely scintillating. Their hair is perfectly fan-blown and their eye makeup exquisitely smudged. (And their images most likely perfectly airbrushed, but that’s a post for another day.) Here’s a round-up of the three covers, each of which possessed a youthful energy that got us excited for Spring!

Leighton Meester’s Cover
Leighton’s Blugirl dress is mesmerizing, especially in conjunction with makeup artist Chris Colbeck’s mix of violet and olive eyeshadows. The one-shoulder design shows off Meester’s defined collar bones, and the rockstar, chunky, chainlink black and silver bracelet is a well needed accessory, playing off of the uber-glammed up dress. While the Blugirl dress would most likely look a bit cheap in real life — sequins as large as those are hard to pull off — Leighton makes the dress, and the cover, shine. In case you couldn’t tell, it was our favorite.

Amanda Seyfried’s Cover
Confident and sexy, Dear John actress Amanda Seyfried wears a Jasper Conran silver sequin tank-dress and large pink and silver gem bracelet. Unlike the other girls’ playful head tilts, Seyfried is faced seductively head on, with her blonde-bombshell curls beautifully framing her face. Other favorite details: her flashy metallic nails and understated makeup.

Zoe Saldana’s Cover
Zoe Saldana is becoming quite the fashionista and on April’s cover, she sports the most high-end dress of the three ladies, appearing in a bedazzled pink Dsquard2 frock. The dress fits as though it was made for her and the color plays beautifully with her skin tone, which absolutely glows. Her coral lipstick and blush light up her face and the yellow and pink glimmering bracelets (chunky like the other girls’ accessories) add a wonderful touch of color.

Would the dresses be favorites of ours on a runway? No. Would we applaud an actress for wearing them on a red carpet? Probably not. But the playful glitz seemed to work for Glamour this month. The girls look happy, powerful, sexy, even fashionable.

Which is your favorite?

I like them. They work well as a group, 3 young Fashion Icons in the making, I enjoy Leeighton Meister’s up tight Blair looking sexy and happy in her little blue dress. Amnda Seyfried going from Big Love’s mormon good girl in a sexy sequined dress staring at the customer saying this is who I am….deal with it. Hers is my favorite. And then came Zoe Saldana who started the year blue and ended up in a sexy, pink Dsquard2 dress that puts the other two dresses to shame. I bought all three versions of this issue just beacase I believed the pictures are of up and coming style Icons. They all look gorgeous and all should be proud about where they are headed as fashion and style icons. They are women whose looks I will keep my eyes on.
