Yes, dear readers, film awards season is upon us! You can expect day-of preshow liveblogging and morning-after red carpet roundups in the months to come, but for now we will satisfy your cinematic style needs with an analysis of the fashion found in your favorite Golden Globe Best Picture nominees .
Without further ado, let’s judge movies how we judge people: based on their clothes and using an arbitrary 10-point scale!

1. Black Swan
Crazy ballerinas. Rodarte. Crazy ballerinas in Rodarte . We don't care if the crazy ballerinas had to deal with their Rodarte costumes falling down , because how beautiful were the crazy ballerina Rodarte costumes? Oh right, SO BEAUTIFUL.
Score: 9/10 (point deducted for nip slip-related anxiety)
2. Burlesque
Despite its title, the cheesy glitz of this film reminds us more of Showgirls than Dita Von Teese . Which is generally a bad thing. But sometimes we embarrassingly like cheesy glitz. Because we like sparkly things. And Cher . So... wash.
Score: 4/10
3. Alice in Wonderland
Tim Burton is a huge freak, and thus we expected some seriously awesome costumes for the Mad Hatter and co. Alas, we were disappointed by the fairly boring dresses worn by both Alice and the White Queen. Helena Bonham Carter 's Red Queen looked appropriately freaky, however.
Score: 6/10
4. The King's Speech
Period pictures provide some pretty great fashion opportunities, and we totally dug the 1930s duds sported by the royals and commoners alike. Then again, we're really into the whole monarchy thing these days. Regardless, we're really inspired to start wearing hats.
Score: 8/10
5. The Social Network
Despite what some people think, Mark Zuckerberg is not a fashion icon. Need evidence? Three words: Adidas flip flops.
Score: 2/10
