12-Year-Old Boy Designs Dress For Michelle Obama, Melts Our Hearts

Michelle Obama is a dream client for every designer, but especially for a very talented 12-year-old boy.

Grant Mower may have won a fashion design contest in his home state of Texas in which he beat out high school and college students, and he may be an apprentice for Laura Bush favorite Michael Faircloth, but his sights are set on Michelle. He hopes to schedule a fitting with the First Lady while she’s in Utah for a fundraiser next week, and he’s traveling to Park City to make it happen.

However, it’s not always easy being a tween boy who likes to design dresses. He has suffered through his fair share of bullying. Explains his mother Moanna: “He would look for validation, and not get it, so he’d come home from school and it would take him three hours for me to just get him back. And out of desperation I would do things like, do you want to watch a Versace fashion show?”

Our fingers are crossed…how could Michelle decline his offer?! He made a dress especially for her, inspired by an orchid he saw while visiting the Smithsonian! If she needs references, we’ll direct her towards his New York Times mention, or perhaps his Nate Berkus appearance. Let’s just call him the anti-Cecelia Cassini. Check out the video below — we’re sure you’ll agree:

Good for him Michelle ain’t a republican since she probably wouldn’t accept clothes designed by a homo if that was the case.

    Fuck you.

he is not a homo i go to school with him

Just because a male wants to design clothing, that means he’s a “homo”???

  • JoMo

He actually will have the edge over the competition because he is a male.  Men typically enjoy studying the female figure.  And….along those lines….straight male actors get more parts, because directors don’t usually want to cast gay men for masculine roles.  Therefore, straight males should be in the arts too!  It’s to their advantage!  In the same way, it’s to a woman’s advantage to be in a male dominated profession some times too.

Wow! What an inspiring young man!! I hope he follows his dreams and gets the opportunity to dress First Lady Michelle Obama.

As a note for the prodigy himself: Dont listen to everyone who doubts you, you’re clearly going places in your life. Keep designing! I hope I’m lucky enough to get to wear one of your designs one day!

It takes a professional homo to identify a homo.
