Photog Responsible For Racy Hailey Clauson T-Shirt Pic Strikes Back
Hailey Clauson‘s parents were pissed when a “salacious” image of their 16-year-old daughter appeared on a T-shirt sold at Urban Outfitters. In fact, they were so pissed that they decided to sue Urban, two other stores, and photographer Jason Lee Parry for $28 million in damages. Now Parry is striking back.
Yesterday we reported that tee brand Blood Is The New Black contacted us to explain it had no clue that Parry didn’t get a release form from Clauson. Today we received a press release from “Team Parry” in an effort to clear the photog’s name. It alleges that Clauson’s father was at the shoot, where he saw the photos and approved them. It also claims Clauson was given privacy on the set, and that the teen’s breasts and genitalia are completely covered in the contested pic: “There is less skin observable in the image than could be seen in any contemporary bathing suit photo.”
More interestingly, the release states the following:
Ford modeling agency assigned the model for Jason Lee Parry’s shoot. Ford approved the fashion story featured in Qvest magazine to be published. The photo in question was featured in the model’s portfolio on Ford’s site. All correspondence is documented in emails approving the shoot.
Unbeknownst to Jason Lee Parry the image in question was selected by the t-shirt brand. He was also unaware of retail distribution of the t-shirt.
After the photos were released the model proudly posted the images in question to her personal site.
Clauson is now signed with Next Model Management, so her profile no longer exists on the Ford Models site (though she was signed to the agency previously). We were also unable to locate the images on Clauson’s blog.
The email that was sent to us by Team Parry “on behalf of our dear friend” included photos from the Qvest Magazine spread in question. You can check them out below. One thing’s for sure — this case doesn’t seem to be getting any less messy.
