Who Is Hollywood’s Most Powerful Stylist?
As much as we like to give actresses all the credit (and blame) for their red carpet hits and misses, we do know that most of them get more than a little (paid) help from their friends. And while some stylists are certainly famous in their own right (Rachel Zoe and Brad Goreski come to mind), most tend to keep things a little more behind-the-scenes. Last year, the Hollywood Reporter dubbed Zoe Hollywood’s Most Powerful Stylist — and now she’s too big of a brand to even be considered. Which means there’s a big spot left at the top of that list.
This year, the top honor went to Kate Young, who most famously styled Michelle Williams and Natalie Portman onto many a best dressed list. Rounding out the top five were:
#2: Leslie Fremar, who styles Charlize Theron and Reese Witherspoon
#3: Petra Flannery (Emma Stone, Zoe Saldana)
#4: Elizabeth Stewart (Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Lawrence, Viola Davis)
#5: Kemal Harris and Karla Wench (Hailee Steinfeld, Stacey Kiebler).
Goreski nabbed the 20th spot while Madonna’s stylist (and Oscar-nominated costume designer!) Arianne Phillips ranked 24th. Michelle Obama fave L’Wren Scott landed 12th.
