Today In Dumb Shirts People Are Trying To Sell To Young Girls

Granted it probably won’t inspire the same firestorm of controversy started by JC Penney‘s “I’m Too Pretty To Do Homework” t-shirt, that doesn’t mean this t-shirt from Urban Outfitters isn’t completely stupid.

The shirt, spotted by the eagle eyes over at Mogulite during an afternoon e-commerce break, proudly proclaims “I Will Cheat On You.” Yes. Now if you have designs on being unfaithful to your significant other, you can articulate those plans with fashion for the low, low price of $70.

It’s not really very funny or particularly clever, and it’s mostly just offensive. But while the sad thing about the JC Penney shirt was that it got put on shelves all over America because no one noticed that it was an awful shirt, this one was probably put on shelves all over America specifically and exclusively because it is an awful shirt. And that’s just depressing.

this misogynistic propoganda aimed at young girls so corporate america can capitalize on it needs to stop. the ceo of urban outfitters earns 30 million a year. by selling hate speech against women. so, we’re cheap, easy, dumb, and liars? and we’re expected to hand over 69 dollars to advertise it? Is that price point supposed to be ironic? i’m sickened.

I thought fashion was supposed to be tasteful? AND $70?!?! Who pays that for a t-shirt, let alone one advertising infidelity? You want to scream “Look at me! I’m a hooker!” you can do it for a whole lot less. And I don’t understand the point in the teddy bear. Is that to soften the blow of the bad news, or distract you from the message completely? If it’s supposed to distract me, they failed.
