Iman Gifts Her CFDA Award To The Standard Hotel

Industry insiders have been flocking to the Standard Hotel like a Barney’s Warehouse Sale since the 18th Floor night club — formerly known as the Boom Boom Room — opened up in New York City’s fashionable Meatpacking District — home to Jeffrey’s, Diane von Furstenberg‘s headquarters, and the Alexander McQueen store to name a few. Amid floor to ceiling windows, which offer a 360 degree view of lower Manhattan, style stars like Madonna, Rachel Zoe, and Agyness Deyn dance the night away….

And now it seems that the 18th floor is getting even more fashion forward. Iman, who recently received the Fashion Icon CFDA award has given her trophy to the Standard Hotel, where it currently sits behind the bar on the 18th floor.

Strange? We think so. Winning the Fashion Icon Award is like winning the Oscar for Best Actress. And we have a feeling Sandra Bullock didn’t give that away to a hotel bar. While we’d be hard pressed to call Iman out on anything other than her elegance, we must say — we’re scratching our heads a bit on this one.
