TIMEWARP: Ines de la Fressange Smoking For Chanel In 1988
Remember last year when everyone got all personally offended because Kate Moss smoked a cigarette during Marc Jacobs‘ fall 2011 show for Louis Vuitton? We guess that’s just a sign of the times — or maybe it was just a tribute to Coco Chanel herself that no one wanted to question? The designer was apparently never without cigarettes, and in her short hair, black trousers and pearls, De la Fressange looks less like a model and more like Madamoiselle walking around her atelier, puffing her instructions to everyone assembled. Sigh.
