Inès de la Fressange To Help Revive Schiaparelli Brand
Back in May, Italian entrepreneur Diego Della Valle revealed he was working on a Schiaparelli reboot. Everyone wondered who would helm the iconic fashion house, and names like John Galliano and Giles Deacon were thrown out — and shot down. But one thing we now know for sure is that Inès de la Fressange is involved.
WWD snuck in a few lines about de la Fressange’s new role with the house in its front row coverage at Carven‘s spring 2013 collection. The 55-year-old model told the paper that she’s been working with Della Valle on a Schiaparelli revival for the past three years, and said that he’d reveal the brand’s creative director soon.
She told the paper, “Then the exhibition at the Met lit the flame, so everything has gathered speed in the last few months.”
De la Fressange has over three decades of modeling experience, a chain of boutiques, her own line, has consulted with the likes of Jean-Paul Gaultier, and was the first model to be signed to a Chanel exclusive. She’s still no Elsa Schiaparelli, but consider us more than intrigued at the brand’s reboot. Now we’re just curious what Jenna Lyons thinks.
